Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") apply to individuals and businesses using the Payskript website, mobile application, and other digital platforms provided by Alkimify companies. By accessing or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

Payskript is a trading name of Alkimify LTD, a company registered in England and Wales (Company Number: 16950573), with registered office at 3 Chapel Close, London, England, NW10 2DL; and Alkimify SARL, a company registered in Republic of Cameroon (Registration Number: [RC/YA Number]), with registered office at Rue SURCUF, à côté des recettes des Finances, Douala.

References to "Payskript", "we", "us", or "our" in these Terms refer to the relevant Alkimify entity providing the service to you based on your location.

1. Definitions

In these Terms, the following definitions apply:

  • "Platform" means the Payskript website, mobile application, and any related digital services.
  • "User" means any individual or business that registers for or uses the Platform.
  • "Escrow" means the service whereby funds are held by Payskript on behalf of transacting parties until agreed conditions are met.
  • "Mobile Money" means electronic money services provided by licensed mobile network operators (e.g., MTN Mobile Money, Orange Money).
  • "Transaction" means any escrow deal, milestone payment, invoice, or payment link created through the Platform.

2. Eligibility

To use Payskript, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Have a valid phone number capable of receiving SMS verification codes.
  • Provide accurate and truthful information during registration and identity verification.
  • Not be a person or entity subject to sanctions or prohibited from using financial services under applicable law.

3. Account Registration and Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials, including your PIN and any biometric authentication configured on your device. You must notify us immediately at info@alkimify.com if you suspect any unauthorised access to your account.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that we reasonably believe are being used fraudulently, in violation of these Terms, or in connection with illegal activity.

4. Services

4.1 Escrow Payments

Payskript facilitates escrow transactions between buyers and sellers. The buyer deposits funds into escrow, the seller delivers goods or services, and upon confirmation by the buyer (or after the inspection window expires), funds are released to the seller.

4.2 Milestone Payments

For projects and services, users may structure payments into milestones. The full amount is committed upfront and released incrementally as each milestone is completed and approved.

4.3 Invoicing

Users may create and send professional invoices through the Platform. Payment links enable recipients to pay via Mobile Money.

4.4 Trust Score

Payskript maintains a trust scoring system based on transaction history, dispute outcomes, and verification status. Trust scores are visible to other users to promote transparency and accountability.

5. Fees

Payskript charges a transaction fee on escrow deals, which is clearly disclosed before you confirm any transaction. Invoice creation and payment links are provided free of charge. We reserve the right to modify our fee structure with reasonable notice to users.

6. Disputes and Resolution

If a dispute arises between a buyer and seller, either party may raise a dispute within the inspection window. Both parties will be invited to submit evidence (photographs, messages, delivery tracking information). Our mediation team will review the evidence and issue a decision, typically within 48 hours.

Payskript's dispute resolution decisions are binding on both parties with respect to the escrowed funds. This does not affect your statutory rights or your right to seek legal remedies through the courts.

7. Prohibited Activities

You agree not to use the Platform for:

  • Any illegal activity, including money laundering, terrorist financing, or fraud.
  • Transactions involving prohibited goods or services (weapons, controlled substances, counterfeit goods, etc.).
  • Manipulation of the trust scoring system, including creating fake transactions.
  • Attempting to reverse-engineer, interfere with, or disrupt the Platform.
  • Impersonating another person or entity.

8. Intellectual Property

The Payskript name, logo, and all content on the Platform (including software, designs, text, and graphics) are the property of Alkimify companies and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any part of the Platform without our prior written consent.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Payskript shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Platform. Our total liability for any claim related to the service shall not exceed the fees paid by you in the twelve months preceding the claim.

Payskript is a technology platform facilitating transactions between users. We are not a party to the underlying transaction between buyer and seller, and we do not guarantee the quality, safety, or legality of goods or services exchanged.

10. Privacy

Your use of the Platform is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal data. By using Payskript, you consent to the practices described in the Privacy Policy.

11. Modifications to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification at least 30 days before they take effect. Your continued use of the Platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Governing Law

For users in Cameroon, these Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Cameroon. For users in the United Kingdom and elsewhere, these Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in the applicable jurisdiction.
